This is a great picture no doubt about it.

I howver doubt a creature would "invests" the energy to develop such a set of tusks that don't have a function. It is a bit like a peacock developping two or three tails, when spending the energy on one is enough to impress the ladies.

Besides this a mastodon as furry as a wooly mammoth was an erroreus assumption made by one paleoartist in the old days and is copied ever since.

But after all this nagging: great picture.
